Last weekend we arranged to meet Alf and Mindy.
Unfortunately Alf's bones were a little creaky that day and he decided to stay at home and have a nice snooze in his warm house.
I was disappointed not to see him but apparently we will be meeting in the Summer.
I hadn't seen Mindy for ages, it was so nice to see her again.
It is part of the Chatsworth Estate and we started our walk from there.
The views were very pretty and we dragged the hoomans up and down a few hills until they decided they were thirsty.
We walked back through the village and Mindy was most interested in what was behind all the garden gates.
If these had been real birds we would all have been in that garden like a shot.
Mindy looked at me and suggested we went to the pub for a drink.
As the skies were becoming dark I thought this was an excellent idea.
We found a nice old pub and Mindy's hooman ordered some refreshments and we waited patiently for them to arrive.
Seemed to take ages, we were gasping.
When our water arrived it was served in huge gold containers, very posh and the water was cold and very refreshing.
Mindy and I settled down and fell asleep while the hoomans chatted and chatted. They were interrupted by Taffy suddenly sitting up and announcing he needed a refill.
"Whatever she had, can I have the same?"

Awww... we LOVE posts like this. Can we come visit??? Can you arrange to waive the six month quarantine?
We've gotta get the map out and find out exactly where you are.... Derbyshire. East Midlands. Right? Not too far from Yorkshire?
For the past week or so, Mom's been pouring over the photographs of Yorkshire in her copy of James Herriot's Yorkshire, wishing we could go romp there.
Dreamin' on,
Jake and Fergi
We think it's fantastic how doggies are allowed in pubs over in your land. Public places here are quite anti dogs. Somedoggie write to the one that makes the rules!! Gross injustice!! If it wasn't for the dreadful quarantine we'd move over! We could all have a pint of water together...
How nice to meet friends and walk in that beautiful countryside.
XOXO

What a shame Alf couldn't be there. Oh well, you got to hang with Mindy and she's pretty cool.
Those are some fancy water bowls. Must be a pretty good pub. The village looks just gorgeous....D says sigh....brings back lovely memories.

Molly and Taffy, we love your adventures in the countryside, especially visiting the pub. Too bad we can't do that in America!
Rich and I were talking just a few days ago about how fun it would be to some day take a walking tour in the UK, but only if Boomer and Daisy could come with us. Wonder how difficult it is to bring the pups over to another country?
Love your blog! Taffy and Molly, you are TOO CUTE!

Molly, you two got to go in a Pub? Don't they serve big frosty mugs of beer in a pub? I am so glad to hear that you opted for the water.
What a glorious weekend meeting Mindy. Taffy looks exhausted.

How lucky that you guys got to hang out with Mindy! What a bummer that Alf wasn't along too!
What gorgeous pictures of your fun day together! Thank you for sharing them, Molly and Taffy!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
What a wonderful day! How we wish there were pubs with dogs in the USA.

That's cool that you actually got to go into the pub!
That looks like a great place for walkies AND you even got to go in the pub after, that would never happen here!
Hi,
You have been nominated for Post of the Month - head on over to the Bone Zone and cast your vote :)
Love

Hi Molly and Taffy! I just read your nominated Post of the Month and it was excellent! And the quotes at the beginning just happen to be from one of my very favorite doggies! I enjoyed reading about your visit with Mindy, too. Good luck on Post of the Month!
See ya!
Joey
P.S. Zeke says hi, too.
Hi! Please please please tell me where that nice pub is. Gail and I are going down to England to visit her family in Nottingham and Sheffield next week, and we're hoping to go to some of her favourite Peak District places where she used to visit as a child. She's always telling me that pubs in England are nicer than in Scotland. Surely not!
Cheers! H.
Hmmm...ya jumped over a what??? What's a style...I mean obviously, I'm stylin'...but nobody jumps over me....sigh...
What a bootiful place you have to walk...we're movin' to the UK...it's settled...but forget that 6 months of solitary...so not happenin'........
Love ya lots!!!!

Hehe! Muumy always falls asleep in the car too!
Nice photo's!
I don't think we've been to Derbyshire.
Reminds me of some of Yorkshire.
You guys always have the best adventures and meet the best doggies!! I love the picture of Taffy asleep in the car! Lightweight, welshie! hehehe
Love,
janie
Did you guys get to drink beer? Slurp!

Thank you so much for the pub details. Now I just have to cross my paws and hope that Gail's old Dad is well enough so we can go for a day out in the Chatsworth area.
Cheers! H.
That looked a fun day out, it is a shame you didn't get to meet your pal Alf. We hope you get to see him next time. :-)
