Hot Sunday

Last weekend me met our Southern friends from WELTAF for a walk.
There were a couple of new faces which was excellent.

We were told we were going to walk all the way around this lake.

Now it was quite a large lake so the first decision had to be made. Do we walk clockwise or anti clockwise around it.
After a short debate we turned right.

The first landmark we saw was a huge Totem pole.

Some of the hoomans stopped for an ice cream. None for us...typical!

We had a short rest as it was really hot and as some of our friends were quite advanced in years we wanted them to enjoy their walk.

We walked through avenues of Rhododendrons.

Finally we arrived at an accessible part of the lake where we could swim and have a drink.
It certainly was a lovely feeling having the cool water on my legs and paws.

My half sister Duffy enjoyed her dip.

After 4 hours we arrived back to where we had set off............well it was a very big lake to walk around!
The hoomans sat down and started to eat a picnic.
My nose picked up the scent of something rather delicious.

My friend Dooley had brought along some fabulous treats for us all.

In fact he was extremely generous and gave us a couple of packets each.
Can you see what is written on the label?

"Best gobbled up by June 30th."
Well bearing in mind the walk was on 31st May..... how could we possibly make a packet of treats last a month?

We managed to force them all down and then I selected a comfy looking lap and settled down for a nice snooze.

It was a lovely day and I have just been told that we are going to meet more friends this Sunday.
Life is good.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Taffy.

what fun, but 4 hours that must have been a very big lake indeed. Did Molly pass as a giant?

You looked totally pooped in that last photo....
I bet that was a most wonderful day and I really liked the scenery...looked like you could run for miles and miles and treats on top of it...
PS: That pic of Sharkie by the electric cords....lol...he was actually sleeping really hard and was snoring. He likes to sleep upside down next to that wall, but it does look like he is chewing on the cord.

Hi
That looks like a great walk. And so well chosen, on a hot day its always good to have access to water. Seems you were ready for a good rest at the end, you look very comfortable and cute on that lap, what a lovely picture.
Cheers, H.
PS We didn't make it to the Devonshire Arms last Sunday, but we did find another nice dog-friendly pub in Winster. Such a beautiful part of the world.

TAFFY!

Hey, you good lookin' growly boy, you! I just noticed that my last comment came up with Stanley's photo. I hope you were not confused. (Stanley likes you very much, but he's not in lurve with you!)

I wish I could go on one of your WELTAF walks with you so I could meet Duffy and all of your other friends. Do you think they would accept a Lakie girl as your girlfriend? They seem like intelligent pups, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't.

Just so you know... you look particularly gorgeous all curled up on that lap for a snoozle. Is that your mama?

Goobery love & kissies too,

oh my, isn't the hot weather good! And a dip in the cool water too for a nice drink, you were very lucky!

I was incarcerated against my will during the hot spell sadly, but I am back home now. Still not forgiven my Jeannie though..........

It looked like you had a brilliant day!

You have the BEST adventures ever! I always love to see where you've been and where you're going next! And special Welshie treats -- how magnifico, Taffs! Were they deeelish??

La mia ragazza loves the fotografia of you snoozing on your mama's lap; sometimes, she picks me up and puts me on her lap, like I'm still just a little pupster ... except that now I have long leggies -- like Molly! -- so I keep sliding off!!! Heeeeeee!!!

Tanti baci!
