What a disappointment to wake up to see it bucketing down with rain knowing you are meant to be meeting your friends for a walk in the countryside.
I stared out of the window wondering if we should actually venture out. It really was grim.
I finally made an Executive decision. We would go and see if the weather cleared up en route.
We jumped in the car.
My turn to drive.
Have you fastened your seat belt?
I am a good driver, positive and assertive. My paws almost reach the pedals so you will be OK with me in the driving seat.
Ready to drive off?
Are you sitting comfortably?
Good
Look left.........
Driving conditions are a tad difficult.
Water across the road
MOVE OVER YOU ROAD HOG.
Can't they see the road is flooded?
Dodged that massive puddle extremely well. Shame the road hog ended up in the bushes!!
You OK there, you are looking a little pale!
The road conditions are becoming really bad.
Sadly even I have to admit that we are not going to make it to our walk. With conditions like this and the rain continuing these roads could become impassable.
I will turn at the next roundabout and we will go home.
A thoroughly disappointing morning but at least we can eat our picnic in the dry when we get back.

Oh no what a shame it rained. I think a dry pincic indoors is preferable to a soggy one though. Good decision to turn back.
We are truly impressed with your ability to move the car when you can't actually reach the pedals. You are a wonder dog.

Fantastic driving Taffy. Can you give our mum some tips
Too funny! The dialogue is perfect. Sorry you got rained out though. And Taffy, perhaps if that silly driver wasn't driving on the wrong side of the road, you wouldn't have had to run him into the bushes. ;)
We know the storm is a bummer, but this post is hilarious!!!
Have a wonderful day.

Wishing my Mum would let me drive!

Molly, do you have a license to drive that car?

I'm beginning to realise we were quite lucky with the BBQ weather in Aberdeen at the weekend!
We are all impressed with your driving skill - look out Jensen Button!
Cheers, H.
You are a great driver! But I still would not walk in the rain either.
Pity you didn't get your walk but looks like you had a pretty good time behind the steering wheel. Mum says you remind her of my hooman brothers, hehe!

Taffy, I'm rolling on the floor laughing, that was sooooo funny!! Thank dog your not a paw driver. Though what shame you had to abandon your walkies.Still at least no soggy sausage rolls and sandwiches.
Wiry loves and kisses, Eric xxxx
I had no idea you could drive? That is pawtastic!!! I would not be afraid to ride with you at all...My mum is laughing hysterically for some odd reason. Humans can be so unstable.
I hope you made it home safely.

.....bouhouhou....I am sorry you had to go back home....
Why are you driving on the wrong side of the road ???.....
Kisses, Faya
We felt incredibly safe with you at the wheel in that horrendous rain! You're a very good driver, Taffy!
Love ya lots,

Taffy,
I bet you are an excellent driver, but it certainly does look dangerous with those wet roads!!

Still, you should know that la mia ragazza and I had to come back to your bloggie about eleventy-billion times today because it was so, so funny that we wanted to read it again and again! Bravo, bravo, bravo!! Fantastico post!
Tanti baci!

Very funny - we loved the thought of Taffy driving - just let us know where he will be going next so we can avoid those roads! It is bad enough the way D drives - no need to scare too many people!
Sorry the picnic was cancelled - but at least the food was dry when you got home
Lots of licks
Sally and Paddy
Its one of those days when only an indoor picnic will do. Great driving.
Simba and Jazzi xx
Great driving, Taffy! Too bad about all that rain, but at least you got a great ride! (Also, thank you for your kind words about Fred - we do miss him so.)
See ya!
Joey
Taffy!
You look very comfortable behind the wheel. My girl NEVEr lets me drive (she's such a car hog).
Actually, you look a little like my girl when were yelling at that roadhog! Really reminded me of her (except she doesn't have the beard you're sportin', man)!
Bummer about the picnic, but at least you got some driving practice under your belt!
Goober love,
Stanley

Wow, where did you learn how to drive so well?? You're so clever...
Doesn't look so bad to me. You got to drive around and yell at other drivers. That must have been fun. Glad you wore your seatbelt.
Slobbers,
Mango
P.S. Momma is snorting at your commentary. I think she is just overwhelmed by your skills.
We are beginning to feel deprived. Our folks never let us drive their car. You seem to be an upsome good driver. Thanks for the photojournal---we'll present it to our parents as proof that we should drive too.
Smooches,
