Accident and Emergency Department

This morning the A&E Department was extremely busy.
Many patients had arrived, they must have had an amazing weekend!

First they were sent to Triage.

It was decided that Heffalump was the number one priority. He could have gone into shock at any moment as his left arm was nowhere near his body!

Quite frankly we were in shock just looking at the state of him.

He also had cuts under his chin that required a few stitches.

Sidney spider must have been walking on some prickly bushes as his legs were cut and oozing a horrible white substance.

Phil also had cuts and abrasions under his neck but did not want a photo taken of his wounds .
We rather think he was concerned he would end up as a dead bird and he and the photos would be used for medical research.

First into surgery was Heffalump.
The skill required to rejoin an arm takes years of training.
The surgeon carefully rejoined his soft felt like skin and poked in a little more stuffing for good measure.
He was then sent to the recovery ward where he enthusiastically took his medicine.

Next on the table was Sidney.
He opted for local anasthaesia but it proved challenging to the medical team when he kept kicking his legs because he was so ticklish. In the end it took a huge team to keep him still.

Here he is in Post Operative care once again standing on his own 8 legs, albeit a little wobbly.

We would like to thank our dedicated team of nurses and doctors for taking such good care of our stuffies.

We now feel it is our duty to go and play with them.

Well they need cheering up......don't they?

Do you think your surgeons could make an emergency trip across the Big Pee to visit our hospital for the disabled? soldiers?

We have enough patients to keep him/her busy for several weeks: birds, alligators, squirrels -- you name it!!!

We'd pay you in tons of licks, woofs, and kisses!!!

The stuffies are very lucky to have such a highly-skilled team at hand.
We still have mutilated stuffies lurking around from apparent bomb blasts and shark attacks that happened years ago...

You must live in a very dangerous area with all those terrible accidents happening to the stuffies. Thank dog you have such excellent staff on hand.

How fortunate for your stuffies to be given a second chance at life. Maybe mine need the stuffie insurance so that they can be cured instead of you thin iced all the time.

Wonderful medical team you have there. When our stuffies get injures, sometimes they get buried in the local landfill.

You must have a greaqt medical team there... your stuffies are looking good as new after their surgery! Ummm you might want to let them 'rest' a while before you play with them.. might be a bit too soon for another surgery, you know? **wink**

Hmmmm Sidney Spider looks vaguely familiar.....eeeeep.....crikey it looks like that gigantic funnel web that marched into our lounge last christmas. How did your mum ever manage to look at it let alone pick it up???? She must be getting brave. Does this mean she has the courage to visit us in spider infested Australia ????

hahahahahaha

Our Mommy says she is worn out from sewing up our stuffies. Can we mail ours to your nurses to sew it up??

Hats off to you guys--you're efficient!

We hear that Napoleon had the best triage surgeons in the world, but they couldn't keep up with the awesome carnage when La Grande Armee met the Airedale hordes at Borodino...

But your surgeon is a true artist. Kudos-- a wonderfully professional job!

Cheers,

Persephone, Buster & Bailey
