Our visit to New York.

Last October our "flat selves" went to NY.
We set out early in the morning to catch a plane from London to NY and by the time we arrived it was night time and raining..
Our wonderful friend Asta had invited us to stay in her apartment while she took her pawrents on a trip.
After a good nights rest we thought it would be great to go exploring.

When we looked out of the window we saw it was still raining and groaned.
It was then I realised how high up we were!
I just couldn't look down, it was so scary!

I left Molly, Monty and Taffy enjoying the views over the River Hudson and had a sniff around.

I am an inquisitive girl.

Pawtinis...........Oh lovely.
Am I allowed one of these I wonder?

Now here's one good looking fellow!
This must be one of Asta's dresses, she has such style.
After a while I thought I would have a snooze and turned round to see Flat George drinking tea.
Looking very comfortable sitting in an armchair.
He certainly made himself feel at home.
I didn't even know he was coming on the trip!

We decided to stay in the apartment and I suggested we had a dinner party, just like the fantastic parties Asta organises. She really is the hostess with the mostest.

We didn't have much food so we made a list of things we needed and

sent Taffy out in a taxi to bring in the goodies.
He never did tell us what he did with the driver or why he went via the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square!

Then came back in a lorry.
The list wasn't that big that he needed to upgrade the vehicle.

The weather was brilliant for the rest of our stay.
We saw a variety of animals...

Some very cheeky squirrels

A lonely Turkey in Battery Park, we wonder if it made it past Thanksgiving?

Even saw a mouse!

Then we went on a trip to Boston.

It was so exciting.

I don't think they could believe their eyes at first when they saw us.
They took us on a tour of Boston but sadly we didn't have time to see their favourite place the Arboretum.

We were invited back to their home. Had a really scrummy meal and posed for tons of photos.

They were so good.
We had an absolutely brilliant day with them and their hoomans.
Thanks ever so much Agatha and Archie for being such excellent hosts.

We spent time on the rooftop of Asta's apartment.

There were some fantastic views from the top.

We could see the Empire State Building.

We were disappointed Asta was not at her home to entertain us.
She was staying with her brother Duffy, so we called her to ask if we could pop over and visit them.

We took them a little present each. Orange for Asta because that is her favourite colour and a blue one for Duffy.

They were so excited.

Asta said thank you very much

before running after Duffy and trying to grab his blue ball.

They played tug for ages. We thought it was so funny that Duffy was standing on the sofa.

Time for posing for photos.

Duffy took quite a shine to George.
Didn't we look smart?
Asta tried to clean George and me!
Asta and Duffy took us on a lovely walk to Washington Square.
A most interesting place indeed!
Friends were greeted.
We enjoyed spending time pretending we were New Yorkers.
After a fantastic afternoon we had to say goodbye and walk back to the apartment.
In Greenwich Village we met Dudley, the Airedale.
Molly thought he was very handsome.
Apparently he is very well trained and knows how to cross roads and stay safe.
While we were visiting Asta at Duffy's home we arranged for Asta to come home early so we could spend some time with her and she could surprise her Mommi and Daddi when they returned from their trip.
We played ball and ran up and down the lovely long hallway.
It was such a good time.
This weekend Asta and her Mommi and Daddi are embarking on a great new adventure.

They are leaving New York and flying a long, long way.

We wish them a very safe journey and every happiness in their new home.

My gosh what a fabulous holiday. We just cannot imagine how exciting it must be to live in such a huge city. The photos from the top of the apartment just amaze us. We're glad you had so much fun. How wonderful of Miss Asta and her family to let you stay at their home for a holiday. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

Blimey, you lot are a bit cosmopolitan aren't you. Newcastle isn't quite the same, which is the most exotic place I've been to. Hehe! Deccy x
