The Old Year goes out with a bang!

Well I have to say my sister excelled herself this evening!!

There we were enjoying a nice nap before welcoming in the New Year when all of a sudden huge noisy fireworks went off near to our house. Molly raced into the lounge and picked up the first thing she could find and gave it a good shake. (She shakes things when she hears fireworks)!

There was a very loud whooshing noise, just like the Christmas tree falling down, we thought she had attacked it, but no, when we looked it was still standing!

This is what she shook.... In its previous life before it was decapitated it was a fully functional door stop!.

What our hoomans had not realised was that it was stuffed full of small pieces of rubble and you can guess the rest!!!!

The whole of the lounge was covered in pieces of grit. The sofas, tables, absolutely everything. It took the hoomans over an hour to clear all the mess.
So this little fellow is now sleeping peacefully in the dustbin.

Molly Rubble is keeping a low profile in a corner trying not to look too guilty! Sisters!!!!!!!!!!!

Derbyshire days

We have brought our hoomans to Derbyshire for some good walks to help them clear the Christmas cobwebs from their heads.

A brisk walk in the middle of the Peak District did just the trick.

We walked for 3 miles before big black clouds came over and we had to turn back so we did not get soaked.
Molly so wished she did not have her lead on as she would love to have played chase with this lot!
This is the Manifold Valley and some of our favourite walks are in this area.
We also visited the lovely town of Castleton, it has a river running through the middle and Molly's favourite entertainment is....
Duck watching!
Castleton, part of the main street.

We are now off to plan our last trek of 2007; well we need our hoomans nice and fit to face the adventures we have planned for 2008.

Happy New Year everybody.

Christmas Day

We had seen packets and parcels coming into our house but we never imagined how many of them were for us and also Santa Paws excelled himself! Now we have so many new things we need another toy box!

How many are for us?

Please can we open them?

A Christmas cracker and more pressies still to be opened!

This one smells good.

It has been well wrapped but I will open it, no trouble at all.

Ooh, thank you Thuglets.

A spider roll and Loopie toys from Ezzy and Jagger. Must crack on, still loads to open!

Wonder whose turn it is to tidy up?

Christmas Day was sooooo much fun.

We also want to thank everybody for all our lovely Christmas cards and email greetings, we were quite overwhelmed by how many we received. We have more blogs to go and visit now and look forward to making many new blogging buddies in the New Year.

An evening visit

On Saturday our friend Finlay, Molly's favourite Labrador, came for an evening visit.

He is a good chap, he does not question my authority as Top Male Dog and we all have a great time together. I consider myself to be a good host and am most willing to keep guests entertained and happy. However, I do feel he took a bit of a liberty during the evening.

This is my bed after all! I gave him a gentle hint to remove himself. A slight curling of the top lip did the job nicely and being an affable chappie he climbed out and all was well.

We also received a Golden Rose from Bogart.

Thanks good friend for thinking of us, we are absolutely delighted.

The Art of present wrapping!

By Taffy

Select wrapping paper

Select present to be wrapped

Roll out paper neatly.

Fold paper over pressie

Get glittery stringy stuff

Tie pressie up, not oneself!

Make sure pressie is still in one piece

Look for missing glittery string

Ask big sister for some help

Give up and take out frustration on wubba!

So there you have it in a nutshell!

"Biggest annoyance " Tag game.

Asta has tagged us to list seven of our biggest annoyances. Then we are to pass this on to 7 more bloggers and notify them by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here is my list:

1. Fireworks that go on for weeks at a time.

2. Taffy pinching my bed.

3. Animals on the TV that stop running as they get to edge of screen so I can't catch them as they come out.

4. Meals not served on time.

5. Footballs that deflate too easily when I sink my teeth into them.

6. Hoomans not sharing their food with us.

7. Having to wait for the hoomans to put on coats, shoes, scarves, gloves and hats before we go out. It wastes valuable walkies time.

Many have already been tagged so if you wish to continue the game consider yourself tagged!!

Sunday with friends

We had a fantastic day on Sunday. Our friends Alf and Mindy came and visited us. In the morning we went for a walk along the Cromford Canal in Derbyshire.

Oh how I would have loved to chase the ducks in the canal.

Me, Taffy, Alf and Mindy

Hurry up and shut the car door we are ready to go home.

Mindy and Taffy

I loved Mindy's fringe. I want to grow mine like that too!

It's just great to have friends come and visit.

A busy day

We got up this morning took our hoomans for a walk in the torrential rain and strong winds and arrived back home very soggy. No photos! The wet bedraggled look is just not good for my image!!!!

The walk was not a pleasant experience, we prefer walks where we can meander around lamp posts and trees and have a good sniff but today it was heads down into the wind and we were very happy to return home and be dried off before our mid morning snack.

Then the best bit began. We helped out with the Christmas decorations.

Lots of boxes to investigate.

I had to try the decorations. Red definitely suits me.

Wonder what is in this box?

This looks interesting, something to chew!!!

Taffy can't have it I found it.

Keeping my eye on it just to make sure it does not roll away.

I have just been told I cannot keep it!!!

My plan is to watch where it goes and sneak it into my bed when nobody is watching.
