We've arrived!

We've arrived!

It was quite late when we arrived in NY. We were very tired, me especially as I had to keep my eye on Monty the whole journey. He had never flown before and after we finally convinced him the clouds were not snow and he couldn't open the aircraft door and go out and play he settled down.

Then it was:
"Are we nearly there yet?"

Oh my poor nerves.

Anyway we arrived and went straight to bed so we would be ready to explore the next day.

Our hotel is very nice. The pillows are fluffed up to perfection.

While I sorted the luggage the boys looked out to see where the nearest park is.

"It's a long way up to the top of those buildings Monty"
"It's even further to the bottom Taffy, not sure I like heights that much!"

I found a very interesting draw full of nice eatables. Midnight feast material............

Then we tried the beds to make sure they were nice and comfy.

Very nice indeed.

"Why do I have to share with Monty and you get a bed all to yourself Molly? So not fair"

I finally settled the boys and we had a good sleep.
Next morning we were up bright and early but were very disappointed to see it was pouring down with rain. We were looking forward to exploring but not in the rain.
Well we patiently waited for an hour and then the rain stopped and out we went.

First thing Taffy spots is a gigantic ball on top of a roof.
I patiently explained he couldn't have it and no I wasn't going to buy him one. Would have been interesting trying to fit that in our hand luggage!!!

We walked down to Times Square.

Dodged past loads of hoomans

and yellow cabs.

There were so many food shops.

Just look at the size of those cakes.

If we munched our way through all these our flat selves certainly wouldn't be flat enough to climb back into our suitcase.

We had a good mooch around

and found this shop............

It must be our friends Maggie and Mitch's shop.

Taffy was very chuffed to find a big pool!

I was baffled as to why the Statue of Liberty had moved and had quite obviously piled on a few pounds! Must have eaten too many of those scrummy cakes we saw.

New York is such a brilliant place. Food stalls along the pavement with sausages and hamburgers, the smell is an absolute delight for a dog's nose.
I am finding it quite challenging keeping the two boys with me, I need eyes in the back of my head.
Next time I come it will be for a spot of girly retail therapy. The boys will have to stay at home.
Time for bed now, big day tomorrow as we are going to meet all our flat friends and Asta, Petey, Stella and Duffy. I am so excited.

NYC here we come!

The day has finally arrived.
Our "flat selves" are off to New York.
We are so excited as we are going to meet so many of our friends when we get there.

Flat Molly and Monty are already tucked up in the suitcase, I had better dash, don't want to be left behind.

My Gotcha Day today!

Hello, it's me Monty.

Today is a very special day for me.
It is exactly one year ago today that I arrived at my furever home.

I wasn't too confident when I arrived on 12th July 2009; the last year has been a huge learning curve for me.

Here I am now with Molly and Taffy.

This is my first day shortly after I arrived.
This photo was taken from an upstairs room with a telephoto lens as I was so scared of that clicky machine that sometimes flashes.

I spent my days laying by the back door step

or by the garage wall.

I could see everything that was going on from these places.
After a while I felt confident enough to play with Molly.

I just love tennis balls.

Molly was very patient with me.

I had a nice airecut after I had been here about 6 weeks and I also started to become a little happier about going into the house.

I would spend some time with Molly just sitting watching the world go by.

After 3 months I felt confident enough to say hello to Taffy.

Perhaps I was a little too confident............

Didn't do that again for a while I can tell you.

I didn't mind having my photo taken quite so much either.

My days became very happy as I could run around the garden to my heart's content.

I learnt how to inspect Taffy's tonsils

and teeth on a daily basis!

Taffy and I have become good pals provided I do everything he tells me to do.

Then Winter arrived and brought tons of......
Snow.

This was the bestest fun ever.

Sometimes I was a bit naughty and wouldn't go indoors. Well I just loved playing in all the white stuff.

February this year was a milestone for me.
I went for my first walk in the big wide world.
It was only a short walk along a quiet footpath but I really enjoyed myself.
Nothing worried me while I was out and I even felt confident enough to keep stopping and have a good sniff.

Then came Mango Minster.
I could not believe it when the Relentlessly Huge selected me as his choice to win Boy Terrier.
What an honour and one I will always treasure.

The next big event in my year was that we moved house.
I coped very well and settled quite quickly which pleased my hoomans.
Shortly after we moved I went on holiday to Northumberland.
My first ever holiday.
We had so many fabulous walks. This had to be one of my favourites.
Walking from Craster along the coastline to Dunstanburgh Castle.

We met Taffy's friend Daisy and she came along on the walk too.
I was even bold enough to go into a maze.

In fact I was so clever I led everyone out when they all got lost in the middle and couldn't find their way out.

Here I am playing in the garden at my new house.
Molly and I play for ages but I rather think she would prefer it if I didn't keep sneaking up behind her and nipping her ankles.

In June I had my 3rd birthday. Gosh that was a brilliant day. I had pressies and all sorts of delicious treats that day.

Here I am now pottering around the garden with Molly and Taffy and really enjoying my life.
I have been very busy this year and also gained so much confidence that I can now enjoy my life to the full.
Wonder what the next year has in store for me.

Bet it's all good!
