We have just had a super weekend.
I must tell you all about it.
It is quite a long post.
Are sitting comfortably?
Then I will begin.
We set off Saturday morning for Chatsworth House.
We love it when we arrive and see the sign for the grounds as we just know we are going to have a wonderful day.
It is a splendid country house. It is the seat of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and has been home to their family, the Cavendish family, since Bess of Hardwick settled at Chatsworth in 1549.
We were going to have a stroll around the grounds.
This is where Pride and Prejudice was filmed. It was filmed entirely on location within England in the summer of 2004 and used several stately homes, including Chatsworth House in Derbyshire.

Molly was very pleased to see her friend Jansie there with her WT brother Norman.
There were a lot of puppies.
Molly and Jansie waited patiently while all the puppies played.

Some of them were actually from the same litter and this was the first time they had met since going to their new homes.
Molly was very pleased to see her friend Jansie there with her WT brother Norman.
She really is a lovely girl.
Twenty minutes later the puppies were still as boisterous.

Molly watched the world go by and was a very patient girl.

Eventually we set off for our walk.
We walked away from the house, crossed the river and made our way across a field.
I became a little impatient as we were being left behind.

By the time I caught up many of my friends were having a drink and a paddle.
Not wanting to be left out I jumped in too.
Lottie emerged with 4 lovely muddy socks.
Puppy Harri just sat and looked adorable.
We stopped quite a lot of times to take photos.
Then Norman found some more water to play in with muddy patches.
We passed many sheep which Molly was extremely excited about.

Finally we had a marvellous view of the house

They headed straight into the shop and spent some time trying to decide which of the Chatsworth pasties they wanted to try.
This was a Traditional Cornish Pastie and they ate one each!
We had to sit and wait for them to finish filling their faces.
Just when we thought we could move on they had these....
Finally we were able to go. Most of our friends had to go home so we had a potter around the courtyard and stables.

The old stables are now being used to sell garden items and plants.
We thought they were very posh.
During the day we met so many dogs who were all very well behaved just like us.

That was until we were about to leave ...
We were standing outside the Stable block minding our own business when an electric caddy pulled up next to us.
There were 2 men and 2 women sitting inside it and they were busy chatting to each other.
A Border Terrier was sitting on one of the men's laps.
Nothing strange about that...
However, it had attitude.
BIG TIME.
It started to rumble so one of the men put his hand over the Bolshy Terrier's nose to encourage him to stop grumbling.
It did not work and the grumbling became louder and also incorporated a lip curl.
Now I for one am not happy at being growled at.
I looked at Molly and gave her a knowing look, she cottoned on to what I was asking of her and then we gave the Bolshy Border Terrier "what for".
We barked at it, we made quite a rumpus actually.
Our humans were frantically trying to get us to be quiet.
We had a real good bark and the Border was growling even louder.
In the end it had 2 hands clamped around it's jaws and one of the women looked towards the sky with raised eyebrows and shrugged her shoulders.
They then drove off.
They then drove off.
We were left feeling elated that we had seen the end of Bolshy Boots.
Then we were then glared at.
What we hadn't realised was............
The Bolshy Border Terrier was a resident of Chatsworth House and had been sitting on the knees of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire!!!
OOPS.
Taffy.
Taffy.
