Our holiday Part 1. By Molly.

A couple of weeks ago we went on holiday to the Yorkshire Dales.

Our two Airedale pals Diggy and Womble very kindly said we could stay in their lovely house while they took their staff to Europe.

First thing we did when we arrived was to check to see if they had left us any peemail!

I went up the steps to say hello to the neighbour. 

This photo was taken just after I was told off for being a nosey parker.

Here I am loitering near the compost heap. 

Once again my exploits were curtailed when I climbed on top of it and put my front paws over the wall!  I never knew my Mum had such a good turn of speed. She flew up the lawn to stop me peering next door where there was a CAT!

Taffy played hide and seek. Well so did I,  just that I was very nearly in the next garden!

When Taffy reappeared he told me off and said I had to behave myself.

Not quite sure what Taffy and Monty are doing here. Probably playing follow my leader.

There are no photos of Winnie in the garden,  she was busy investigating Diggy and Womble's huge toy box in the lounge.

One day we had a trip to Bolton Abbey.

We had a fabulous time. There were so many places to walk.

Refreshments for the staff.

Convenient dog parking next to the tables.

With full facilities for us. Winnie certainly approved.

The clouds were black and we thought we were going to get drenched.  Fortunately it didn't rain and we stayed dry until we wandered down to the river.

Where a Giant Schnauzer and his companions stood and watched us. I think they were overwhelmed at seeing 4 Terriers together .

So Monty stood and stared at them.

I did tell him it is rude to stare.

He said they were staring at him so why couldn't he!

They've gone now! 

Now we can play without an audience.

Do you think they thought I was ever so handsome?

Come on Monty,  let's wade in. I'll go first just to make sure it isn't too deep.

Lovely cool fresh water.  Delicious.

Leave some for me Monty, don't drink it all!

After attempting to drink the river dry we explored the ruins of the abbey.

It was huge. We were allowed on all the stones and could explore wherever we wanted to.

Winnie kept insisting she should have her photo taken while admiring the view.

We loved it here so much that we actually came back a second time later on that week.

Monty and I are arguing debating as to who will write part 2 of our holidays.

My 3rd Gotcha Day by Monty.

YIPPEE! 

Today is my 3rd Gotcha Day.

First thing this morning Taffy and I went out into the garden and I said to him

"What do you fancy doing today?"

Humph was his reply.

I am not staying out here it is sure to rain. AGAIN!

So we went back in and found a surprise.

A special breakfast had been prepared.

The usual biscuits had been garnished with cheese and sardines.

I have to say Mum  really came up trumps here and  has really spoilt me.

She absolutely hates anything to do with fish. The smell makes her go green at the gills!

So thanks Mum for preparing an extra special brekkie for us all.

Needless to say Taffy was correct with his weather forecast.

We had hardly finished our meal and it started to rain.

No outdoor play today.

So I will just show you a few photos of me when it actually was dry and a little sunny a few days ago.

I even smiled to have my photo taken.

The camera isn't quite as scary as it used to be. 

One day I may even be brave enough and stand still when the flash goes off.

Wordless Wednesday with Molly

Martha's walk.

On Sunday Winnie and I took part in a sponsored walk.

It was organised by our Airedale friend, Martha.

We were raising money for the VRCC.  

The VRCC have been looking after Martha for a number of months while she had cancer treatment. As she had received such splendid care Martha wanted to help them raise funds for much needed equipment.

Molly and Monty were meant to come with us but because Molly was not feeling too well she decided to stay at home and Monty very kindly offered to keep her company.

We arrived nice and early. Makes a change for us!

Some dogs were even earlier. Obviously very keen to start the walk.

A very chilled Airedale..... you don't see many of those!

A couple of late arrivals.

Wait for us, we're coming too.

Then a HUGE hound appeared!

Well we are in England and brollies are a necessity especially during our summertime!

The very nice man from the VRCC officially started the walk.

Off we all charged..

My half sister Duffy wasn't too sure if it was safe to pass this lion Airedale.

I assured her he was friendly and we trotted on.

Our little legs were going nineteen to the dozen.

We didn't want to be left behind. Airedales seem to have extra long legs sometimes.

Duffy and I formed a neat queue, what for I can't remember.

We went through mud, huge puddles and long grass.

It was great fun.

Back on to a dry footpath meant we were nearly back to the starting point.

That was the last we saw of him.

He legged it across a field never to be seen again.

Hope he found his way home OK.

After we had settled and had a nice drink we had a wonderful surprise.

Martha came along to thank us all for coming.

It was lovely that she was able to come and welcome us all back.

She thanked Winnie for participating

Explained she couldn't chat too long as she had to make the rounds and say hello to everyone.

One Dale looked as if  it was trying to make a dash for the tea rooms

Martha gave us all a splendid rosette to say thank you for participating.

We also received a Certificate or Participation.

The biggest surprise of the day was when our names were called out and we

were awarded this massive rosette. 

Apparently we were runners up for raising the most sponsorship money.

It was an absolutely brilliant day, it didn't rain too much so we were very lucky.

When I arrived home I was absolutely worn out so I settled in my bed to dream of Scooby running over fields to goodness knows where. 

Wonder if he was micro chipped???
