Update by Molly

Hello everyone, I am still here.

It's been a long week....

Spent a lot of time sleeping in my posh gear.
Or looking at my rather nice calendar.
All that seems to be written on it is

Molly to Vets am
Molly to Vets pm

Molly to take tablets..

You get the idea?

At least I had some good pals to look at above my appointments.
My view of the garden for the past week, oh how I wish I could be out there.
Something did cheer me up the other morning.

I had a card from Doctor Duffy.
She is a serious character, stands no nonsense but I really did appreciate that she spent time in her very busy schedule to send me a pawsonalised repeat prescription.
The first part I can follow quite easily the second part is proving to be quite a challenge.
On Monday I went for my post op check up.

Taffy stayed home and apparently was a nervous wreck wondering how I was getting on.
He stayed by the fence till I came home.
My vet was very pleased with me.
My wounds are healing very well and I have been a very good girl following all his instructions to a "T"

My lab results were back..

Good news.

The tumour has been completely removed and a big enough margin to ensure that nothing could spread. The extra good news is that my lymph glands were all clear.

The area taken was about the circumference of a tennis ball and apparently it proved a challenge for my vet to sew me back up again because of the position it was in. Consequently it is taking a little longer to heal.

I received a BIG thumbs up.
What a relief.

So now I just have to rest up a few more days and hopefully by the weekend I will be able to join my brothers and sister and have a decent walk.

Finally I have to thank all the staff who have cared for me during the past 10 days.

Such a supportive team and so very kind.
Thank you so much.

I'm home!

Hello, I'm back!
What do you think of my designer gear?

I went to the vets on Monday morning and then everything went rather hazy and finally I was brought home wearing this!

Whatever they gave me certainly knocked me for six, (I don't even remember having a sleepover there.) It was good stuff but it made my legs very wobbly.

Tuesday afternoon I was really miserable and didn't want to eat and just stood and looked pitiful so Mum encouraged me to do lots of this.

By Wednesday morning I was a little more alert and feeling up to opening my post.

A lovely get well card
Just about focussed on the writing...
It's from my best friends, Holly, Webster, Cora and Teddy.
Oh how fabulous, that really has cheered me up.
I keep feeling so sleepy though.
Think I will just rest my chin on my card and get some more zzzzzzz's.
Lacie has been with me throughout....

Here are a few extracts from her notes............
  • Lacie   Molly Dear, let me know when you'd like a sip of hot broth I have here for you. Here's a cool rag for your head, and the vettie is giving you one of my special pain smoothies in your IV....Lacie pats Molly gently on the back...go back to sleep dear girl....we're right here with ya!

  •  Lacie deftly changes Molly's sheets with freshly newly ironed crisp ones. She refills the water pitcher, and adds some daisies to the vase. Window is open the required six inches allowing for a gentle breeze to come in. Molly comes back in from the garden and sinks gracefully onto her bed. Lacie pats her head with her tiny paw, grabs a new concoction...fresh jelly otto infused with a light mango-papaya flavored PainRelievingSmoothie. She spoons it to Molly allowing her to lick the last drops out of the cup. Molly's head rests contentedly on the pillow. Lacie picks up her knitting and settles herself in the rocker to keep charge over her patient.

Update from 2 legged Mum.

Molly is definitely brighter today (Thursday).  She has 2 fair sized wounds, one under her tummy and the other is near her groin.  Hence the "designer gear"  While she was asleep the vet also removed a tiny lump from her right lower eye lid. So the poor girl really did go through it on Monday.

We have to keep a careful eye on her wounds to make sure they do not weep and are clean. I think the challenge for me will come in the next 24 hours when she decides that being separated from her brothers and sister is not an option and she starts standing on her back legs to open doors to let herself out.
She is allowed 3/4 sessions a day in the garden on her lead for a maximum of 5 minutes each time for the next 2 weeks. No stairs allowed or jumping!

We have to wait 10 - 12 days for the results of the biopsy from her mammary gland removal. Please keep your paws crossed for her.

Molly and I would like to thank you for all your very kind wishes of support. It really does help knowing that our friends were sending so many pawsitive thoughts to us.

Thank you.

Airezen needed please.

Hello, it's me, Monty. I was wondering if I could ask a huge favour?
My lovely sister Molly has to have a big operation tomorrow.
She has a nasty lump on a mammary gland and it all has to be removed; on top of that she is also having the "little girl's operation".
She is being very brave about it but I am so worried. She has to stay at the Vets overnight and she can't come home until the nurses are happy she is comfortable and her medication is correct.
I have been giving her lots of hugs and kisses and telling her it will be all be over soon and she must get better quickly.
So please can you cross your paws for my sister and pray nothing nasty is found.

Thank you so much.

Prizes

I know I am very late blogging about my Mango Minster 2012 prizes, but here goes....

I was absolutely delighted when I won Best in Show, Reader's Choice.

Two generous sponsors had offered prizes and here they are....

The first was an Amazon gift certificate from Bart and Ruby for many $$. More $ than I will ever receive for pawket money. I love Amazon! I wasn't too sure what to choose to be honest but when my two legged Mum suggested an Airedale stuffie I was rather surprised. Did she want to see me give it a good Terrier shake? Apparently not, she wanted it to sit on the coffee table. After a good deal of thought I said she could have one as she had been so helpful when I was composing my MM entry. Generous to a fault aren't I?

The second  was a pawtrait from Jack and Moo's Mum.

I was ever so chuffed when I received it. It  has been beautifully painted and you must agree it captures my handsomeness very well. I still need to go and choose a frame for it and decide where to hang it but for the time being it sits on the mantel piece for everyone to admire.

Two more generous sponsors sent me prizes for my win as Runner up Best in Show.

Mabel Lou's Mum crafted this really pretty puppy print glass bead on a silver chain for Mum. It is very delicate and opens up. Her site is Holly'sFolly  Do pop over and have a look at all her pretty beads.

Tucker, Daisy and Leo's Mum made this amazing wall hanging. It features me of course!

A great deal of work went into making this quilt. It really is superb.

I never dreamt I would have my own wall hanging.  Thank you so much for all your hard work for making this special prize.

Many many thanks  again to Mango for organising another splendid Mango Minster and to the very generous sponsors for all my prizes. I consider myself to be a very lucky lad.

Taffy.

We went to Derbyshire a few weekends ago and met a very naughty Terrier. Wasn't one of us...we are all little angels.

We had a terrierific walk around the Chatsworth Estate (home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire) and after a few hours of sniffing and watering the plants we headed back to the tea rooms where there were nice china bowls full of fresh clean water. I refuse to drink out of a plastic or tin bowl.... water just doesn't taste the same you know.

Anyway after we had lubricated our tonsils and were all settled Mum said she wanted to have a nosey around the gift shop. She was in there ages and ages. When she did reappear she told us a very amusing story.

While she was looking at all the gifts a lady appeared in the shop with a little terrier who wasn't on a lead. WE weren't allowed in the shop so how come this one was? Hmph. The little terrier had a good sniff around and then made a bolt for freedom straight out of the door somebody had left open.

Mum was hot on the heels of the little rascal and alerted the lady that her dog was busy watering the tulips!

The lady followed Mum out of the shop and called her dog, apparently it had selective hearing and continued to water the tulips.  So Mum had a nice little chat with the lady and they discussed Terriers. Eventually the little rascal, who was called Snug, went back to the lady and all was well.

The reason I am telling you this story is because if you should ever walk through the Chatsworth Estate and come across a little Terrier called Snug remember to bow or courtesy, she belongs to the Duchess of Devonshire.

For your viewing pleasure I have added a photo we had taken in the grounds of Chatsworth.
