Saturday, 15 December 2012

Brrrrr, it's cold outside.

It has been soooooo cold.
Getting out of bed recently has been a bit of a struggle.

It has been nice seeing the sun wake up every morning but we do wish it was a bit warmer.

Sitting on the garden table isn't a pleasant experience.
There is a limit to how many paws I can lift up at the same time.

I wonder if we could go for a walk.

The countryside is looking very pretty
Can we go for a walk? Pretty please?
Open the gate Mum while we put on our new posh coats.
This is nice isn't it Taffy?
Our new jackets are certainly going to us keep us snug until our furs grow back.
We walked along the river towards the village.
Past the local church and then to the Post Office where we had to post some letters.
Taffy posed for a photo
Then it was my turn
Oh Taffy!
Must you do that while the camera is pointing your way?
We passed some very tall four leggeds on our way home.
Their coats weren't half as posh as ours.
I am looking forward to warming my paws up when we get back Taffy.
Come on stop dithering
Put your best paw forward.
A few photos of our walk
Jack Frost stayed all day.
Taffy, do you think birds suffer with cold feet like us?
I really don't know Winnie.
Come along, hurry up, you are the one who wants to get home.
I'm coming Taffy.

12/12/12 with Taffy.

Anyone need to go Christmas shopping?

Hop in then and please remember to belt up!
Off we go... Handbrake off and floor the accelerator.

Get out of the way you road hogs!

Hope I can find a parking space.

Molly's Tuesday.

Today started well.

Breakfast was served on time.

No power cuts planned for today. Excellent news.

What shall we do?

I started to feel uncomfortable when the brush appeared followed by the scissors and clippers.
Mum called out: "Where is my last victim customer?"

Couldn't possibly be me.

Then I realised Monty had woofed his way out of a full trim yesterday.
That left only me.

My curls are just how I like them.
I rolled around for hours to perfect this look.

Look Mum I don't have time for an airecut.
All the Christmas cards have to be written.
We must send them this week.
That didn't work.

I quickly and quietly tip toed to the door.

Oh dear my exit has been blocked.

On to plan B.

Monty's Monday moan.

It's horrible when the week starts off badly.
When we fell out of our beds this morning Mum told us the power was going to be switched off at 8am until 4pm.
We thought she was joking.

She wasn't.
On the dot of 8am all the lights went out. The fridges and freezers and absolutely everything stopped working.

Thank goodness our treat jar doesn't have to be stored in the fridge.
Apparently some silly men had decided that trees needed to be cut near some power lines. As they didn't want to end up with frizzy hair the power had to be cut off.

Now my question was...
Why couldn't they have done this earlier before the shorter days and cold weather arrived?
Or even waited until Spring. It's not as though the trees are going to grow during the winter.

Mum then said......

"It must be your turn now for an airecut  Monty"

YOU ARE JOKING????

We have no heat or light and you want to cut my furs!

Please, please could I stay as I am?
Perhaps a little trim around my ears. My eyebrows tidied up and my paws trimmed.

I really would prefer to keep warm and furry.
The pitiful look worked.

Result Thanks Mum.

I think I look smart enough for Santa  Paws's arrival in 21 days.

Taffy managed to find another way to keep warm.
A spot of snake charming and he was happy.

Power was restored  at 3pm.

Shivering with Winnie

I wasn't impressed by the way Taffy leapt on the pawtop yesterday and moaned about his haircut.

I know he wanted you to feel sorry for him but he forgot to mention I had all my furs cut off as well.

Standing on these cold stones is not pleasant at the best of times.
With a cold breeze around one's derriere makes it doubly uncomfortable.

Standing on the stone bench is just as bad.
  Sitting down is unbearable.
I did keep still so a photo could be taken showing how beautiful I look.
I am not staying here a moment longer

Please can I get down now and show everybody a lovely photo?

This was our sunrise this morning.
I do hope the sun warms up the ground quickly.
