Walking on Wimbledon Common.
We had an 80 minute car journey to reach our destination of Wimbledon Common (SW London). When we arrived we could see loads of dogs but no Welsh Terriers, I was a bit concerned as my hoomans had assured me there would be at least 6 Welshies for me to meet. It turned out there was a lot of traffic and some were delayed, but in the end there were 10 of us Welshies, Molly my sis, and a Sealyham Terrier called Maddie.
We also had arranged to meet a very special person. Our Auntie "Blue" travelled all the way from Dreamingspires to see us and join in the ramble. She had come on the coach and had actually arrived before us and spotted us queueing up to get in the car park.
While we were waiting to set off on our ramble this little chap came over and said hello to us. He wasn't part of the group but he was very friendly and we got to know each other.
Here are some of my new friends.
There were two huge ponds on our walk and we were allowed to have a paddle and a drink from the water. Some of us had a bit of a swim as well but the water was very cool.
Chatting to my new pals while walking.
One of the Welshies called Duffy wanted to play with Molly.
At first Molly just stood there and looked, then suddenly she gave one of her deep woofs and started to play as well.
The walk was excellent so many new smells to sniff. We had to keep stopping to have our photos taken which was a bit of a nuisance but you have to keep these hoomans happy!! We also had to stop at a Pub so they could have lunch (nothing for us) and then we walked back to our cars to come home.
The very smart fellow on the left is my new pal Dooley. He had just had a haircut and was very posh.

Stanton Moor walk in Derbyshire.
It was a huge area and we did not want to get lost.
So I said to Taffy, "Which way shall we go?"
He said, "I don't know, which way is the best ?"
Needless to say, we ended up going in opposite directions.
I kept my nose to the ground hoping to sniff out a rabbit.
Then Taffy came along and helped out.
After a while I think he forgot we were trying to catch rabbits and decided to rope a tree instead.
We made it to the top of the moor and had a look at the little people in the valley below us.
I think Taffy was pretending he was King of the Castle while standing on this rock.
We loved this walk and will definitely be going back there again.

Well I have to say Molly was absolutely delighted to read Alf's email and we replied to him immediately to acccept his offer of escorting Molly to the Valentine's party.

Strange noises up the chimney.
Handsome Dale required!

Molly although does not have a "Beau". So she is feeling a little dejected. She does understand that you do not need to have a partner for the party, but would dearly love to be able to share the day with a handsome Dale with the same exuberance for life as she has. She does not want to feel like a gooseberry among all the other couples.
So if there are any handsome, single, outgoing Dales, with g.s.o.h going to the party who would like to accompany my sister please contact me in the first instance by email. (Address is on our blog).
Taffy.

Sneaky Hoomans!
A few weeks ago we were each given a new tag to put on our collars. These new tags we were told were to help keep us safe at night when out walking as they glowed in the dark. As we are often walking down country lanes at night we agreed this was a very sensible thing to wear, so we popped them onto our collars
Me and new tag.
What we were not told was that there is a little switch on the side of them. This can be turned on so the tag lights up and we become even more visible at night, it is a bit like having a Belisher beacon strapped to you!
BUT, can you believe this bit??!!!!!!!!!!! They are being switched on as we go out into the garden last thing at night so they can see where we are! So now we cannot hide behind the bushes and pretend we are not there anymore.
We love our last chase of the day and listening to little creatures scurrying across the lawn, frogs leaping about and generally doing a final garden patrol for at least 20 minutes each evening! Our fun has been seriously curtailed as we are now very visible!!!!!
We cannot reach the little switches to turn them off and even if we could our paws are way to big to do anything, we think this is so grossly unfair.
Our hoomans seem to have lost their sense of humour. We thought it was hilarious they stood at the doorway each night calling and we pretended not to hear them.

We hold degrees in "Animal Welfare Rights"
Think we will have to call upon all our skills to get this situation sorted as soon as possible!
