I am 8 years old today!

Well I am 8 years old today!

I still feel so young. I can outrun my sister any day of the week!

I was not sure what the plans were for today. There were whisperings yesterday and I had a feeling it may have something to do with today!!!

I was right!

Today we are going to Wales to meet my WELTAF friends. Apparently at least 20 of them are going to meet me. How brilliant is that?

We are going to spend the whole weekend with them and then it gets even better.

When we leave them on Sunday we are going to The Lake District for a week.

To top it all Georgeous George gave us this stunning Award.

Thank you so much George.

What a wonderful day I am going to have.

Catch up with you all when we return from our holiday.

Be good everybody.

Taffy.

I am 5 years old today!

I was asked what I would like to do for my birthday this year.

It did not take me long to decide.

As I love to go walking in Derbyshire my hoomans said they would take me there for my birthday.

So that is where I am and later I am going to have a nice long stroll along some of my favourite footpaths.

Perhaps I will have an extra large portion of my favourite dinner this evening.

Maybe a cake? Birthday Candles

I will let you know when I return home next week.

Molly.

PS. It is Taffy's birthday tomorrow and he is in for a HUGE surprise.

Our surprise.

Taffy and I have made some new friends recently on the Internet.

We have been chatting to them quite a lot and kept on saying to our hoomans that we would really like to meet our new pals one day as they live in the UK.

WELL!! Our surprise for last weekend was we actually went to see them!!

On Saturday morning we had to rise and shine much earlier than normal. We were told we were going to the New Forest to meet our new pals.

New Forest is the green splodge in middle of map!!!!!

It was quite a journey for us (114 miles) and we had a delay on the motorway and arrived a little later than planned.

Our friends had already arrived at the meeting place.

Izzy, Border Terrier: Basil, WFT: Roxy, Airedale: Manuel, WFT.

and

Deefor, Airedale. (at front of picture).

Introductions over we started our walk.

Deefor had already found some nice muddy puddles so we were ever so excited! He said he would show us where they were.

We had not been walking for more than 10 minutes when Taffy started to show off!

Leaping here there and everywhere.

The New Forest was originally woodland, but parts were cleared for cultivation from the Stone Age and into the Bronze Age. However, the poor quality of the soil in the New Forest meant that the cleared areas turned into heathland.
The New Forest was created as a Royal forest around 1080 by William the Conqueror for the hunting of (mainly) deer. It was first recorded as "Nova Foresta" in the Domesday Book in 1086. The story that the inhabitants of thirty-six parishes were evicted is one of the many myths surrounding the forest's history. Two of William's sons died in the forest, Prince Richard in 1081 and William Rufus in 1100. The reputed spot of the Rufus' death is marked with a stone known as the Rufus Stone.

Deefor led us to some nice boggy patches and we had a good sniff. Poor little Izzy slipped down a hole and had to wriggle very hard to get herself back out again!

Just look at the colour of the water in this puddle!!!

A little further on the hoomans found some cleaner water for us to play in.

I had to stay on my lead the whole walk as I still had a slight limp.

We had great fun running around, chasing after each other.

Roxy headed straight for our hooman Mum, thank goodness they did not collide.

It was just the perfect spot for 7 Terriers to play.

Izzy had a good way of moving Roxy.

Attack from the rear! I hope Taffy does not try that on me!

We spotted some New Forest ponies.

The New Forest Pony is one of the recognised Native pony breeds of the British Isles. The breed is valued for its hardiness, strength and sureness of foot. They are indigenous to the New Forest, Hampshire, and ponies can be seen running loose in the New Forest.

We all went and said hello to the ponies.

They were not bothered by us at all.

They just carried on chomping the grass.

Too soon it was time to head back to our car.

On the way back we met a Lab.

When he saw 7 Terriers heading directly for him he sat down very quickly!

We only wanted to say hello to him, not eat him!!

A little further down the track we met these 2 little dogs.

They were not overly keen in saying hello! Perhaps it was something to do with the fact we were quite muddy!!!!!!!!!!

Deefor and Roxy found a huge stick.

Not sure who kept hanging onto it the longest.

A few final sniffs before we reached the car.

Molly and Deefor posed for a final photo.

It was such a shame the day passed so quickly but we were so pleased to meet our new friends.

Hopefully we can meet them all again very soon.

Roxy's hooman made a short video of our day out:

Enjoy.

A visit to my Vet.

Well I had to visit my VET earlier this week.

I seem to have developed a limp. I really do not know what has caused it.

My Vet, Helena, (we are on first name terms now) manipulated my leg and paw and could not find anything wrong. She thinks I may have pulled a muscle, so now I have to take these anti-flammy things every day to see if it eases whatever is going on inside my leg!
I keep wondering how I may have done this, so in the meantime all I am allowed to do is potter around the garden, count frogs near the pond.........

Or sit quietly and watch the birds fly by.

Soooooooooo boring!

Fortunately Noah and his sisters cheered me up by giving us this Award.

Thank you so very much Noah.

Apparently we have a treat in store tomorrow. Not sure what it is but it involves a car journey. Will let you know about it on Sunday.

ABC..

A is for Award.
We were jumping up and down when we saw you had awarded us this.
Well George does currently holds the DWB Awesome Blog Award and he says he loves our blog.

Thank you George.

B is for bird.

Rescued from "Jaws" (alias Molly)

It didn't take off quick enough and once extricated from my sister's mouth we found the poor little thing had a bruised wing.

It was very happy sitting in our hooman's hands for a while, it must have felt safe!

Eventually it was encouraged to fly away, we just hope it lived to see another day.

C is for coat.

Molly's new luminous coat bought for her so she can be conspicuous when we are out walking at night.

Pawsonally I think she should wear it all the time, it might just give the birds enough advance warning of an imminent attack!

Have a good weekend everybody.

Taffy.

Walks and a word by Molly.

We have discovered a new word!
"discomgoogolation"

It is a real word.......honestly.

It means to feel stressed or anxious at inability to access the Internet!

Which is why this post is going to be long. We could not get to blog 'cos the silly Internet kept playing up!!!

So go and grab a nice cup of coffee or even better a nice glass of wine (depending on which time zone you are in) and come back and relax while you read about our antics over the past 10 days.

Well we have had several good walks. The first was with all those Welshie friends of ours.

There was a new boy there.

Norman.
Quite a character he was too.

Here he is again.

Did you think he was standing next to me? Well he wasn't.

He has a big sister just like me!

After all the introductions had been made we set off at a brisk pace and we had not walked far when look what we found.

I was first in with Dooley the Welshie. I never miss an opportunity to have a swim.

We had a special area we could swim in to stop us disappearing into the middle of the lake.
As if we would do that!

Dooley had thoughts of swimming further.

While I organised a "Group tangle" in the hope of pulling the hoomans into the water.

Sadly I did not succeed so a meeting was called by Dooley to see if we could make an escape through a gap in the fence.

As the lads spent too much time arguing who would escape first they lost their opportunity and they were told to get out.

Then it was time for the obligatory group photo.

I sat next to my new friend Jansie. We discussed the joys of having a WT as a brother!
Norman, Jansie, Me (Molly) and Taffy

The boys then posed for a photo, but ended up facing the wrong direction!!

So us girls just watched as chaos ensued!
Can you tell which Dale I am on the photo?
Near to the end of the walk the hoomans found a nice spot for Taffy to have his photo taken with his half-sister Duffy.
Taffy was not a happy chappie and asked to get down.
Duffy didn't seem too keen either.

They just about managed to look at each other

Then became uncooperative!

Five minutes later we had success.

The next exciting thing that happened was we found out we had won "Photo of the Month" on DWB. How good is that!!!!!!!!!!

The flattering photo of me showing the whites of my eyes and Taffy displaying his tonsils!

Just to jog your memory....

Many thanks for your votes.

-----
Our next big event was the Annual Walk and BBQ with my Airedale friends.

This was an event that could so easily have been cancelled as the rain the day before was horrific. We were very lucky though and had a dry day.

Our walk was a shorter one than had originally been planned due to flooding in the region. We started our walk from this field and Oh Boy it was a fantastic place to be.

It was full of the squishiest, smelliest cow pats you could ever wish to find.

My nose was on overdrive and the desire to have a good roll was tremendous but I was stopped.............something about travelling home in the car at the end of the day.........

We had to follow arrows so we did not get lost. Now beside each arrow were questions the hoomans had to answer. These formed part of a quiz and apparently were quite challenging! This caused a problem for us as it meant we had to hang around waiting for them to try and work out the answers.

Milly the Dale with her sister who had been rescued from a Spanish building site by her owners. They sat very patiently while their hoomans chatted.

Annie, a young lass.

Woolly mammoths!!!
Once the quiz was completed we had an uninterrupted walk back through the fields to where we had started.

Next on the Agenda was the BBQ, while it was being organised there was Fancy Dress Competition. Taffy and I did not want to participate this year so we enjoyed watching it.
French Onion Seller and a Dale in Sheep's clothing.

Super Dog
The French Onion seller again. I really liked this entry.

Bedtime Dale
There really were lots of entries, very imaginative and original they were too.
By the time the judging was finished the BBQ was ready. The hoomans
ate well as usual. Not even going to say what we got!!!!!!!!!!!! Nil as usual!!!!
There was a raffle and my Mum hooman won 5 prizes. It was her lucky day!
Well I have actually reached the end of my posting without the Internet dying on me.

Till the next time.

Molly xx
