Secrets....................

"Ummmm Molly can you keep a secret?"

"If I tell you a secret do you promise not to tell anybody?"

"You really really promise?"

"Would you mind not huffing and puffing in my left ear while I am talking to you"

"Stop looking around and pay attention. What are you looking at now?"

"Molly you have the attention span of a flea!"

"OK Taffy, I am all ears now, you have my undivided attention. Do tell me your secret"

"Well this is it....... ........... .......... ................"

"You are joking Taffy?"

"Oh no, it is too funny........... oh my goodness this is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time!"

"MOLLY, it's not that funny."

"Taffy it is, believe you me it is"

"My ribs are aching, oh don't it is too much............"

"I can't stop giggling"

"Molly will you get a grip please!"

"Get up and promise again you won't tell anybody"

"OK Taffy, I promise. You happy now?"

"Thanks Sis, you are the best."

Meeting Mindy

Last weekend we arranged to meet Alf and Mindy.

Unfortunately Alf's bones were a little creaky that day and he decided to stay at home and have a nice snooze in his warm house.

I was disappointed not to see him but apparently we will be meeting in the Summer.

I hadn't seen Mindy for ages, it was so nice to see her again.

We met in the village of Pilsley in Derbyshire.
It is part of the Chatsworth Estate and we started our walk from there.

We negotiated a few stiles. Taffy insisted on being carried over them but Mindy just jumped straight over.
The views were very pretty and we dragged the hoomans up and down a few hills until they decided they were thirsty.

We walked back through the village and Mindy was most interested in what was behind all the garden gates.

If these had been real birds we would all have been in that garden like a shot.

Mindy looked at me and suggested we went to the pub for a drink.
As the skies were becoming dark I thought this was an excellent idea.
We found a nice old pub and Mindy's hooman ordered some refreshments and we waited patiently for them to arrive.

Seemed to take ages, we were gasping.

When our water arrived it was served in huge gold containers, very posh and the water was cold and very refreshing.
Mindy and I settled down and fell asleep while the hoomans chatted and chatted. They were interrupted by Taffy suddenly sitting up and announcing he needed a refill.

He looked at Mindy and said.
"Whatever she had, can I have the same?"

It was obviously good stuff!

Then it was time to pose for a final photograph

before returning to the car where Taffy fell asleep! IMMEDIATELY.

So I have been thinking about her most flattering remarks and feel I need to share with you the secrets of staying young, fit and healthy.

First of all there must be plenty of time for

Rest and relaxation.

Make sure your bed is comfortable, filled with your favourite toys to ensure a good sleep.

Relax in the fresh air with your paws up.

Take up a hobby.

Fishing for example.

Eating and drinking.

A well balanced diet is of the utmost importance.

Steak must be lean, no gristly bits and of a decent size.

Drink plenty of fresh water

Exercise

Now this is the key to staying in prime condition

Encourage family members to join you.

Stretching relieves tension

Leaping strengthens the leg muscles.
and barking at the same time certainly keeps the lungs working at full capacity.

Practice ball skills.
Try and run a few miles each day

Keep up your social skills and run with a friend

Get your hoomans to throw your ball for you

Smile frequently.

It helps keep those wrinkles at bay.

Exercise the jaw muscles.

Bend and stretch.

Keeps the thighs well toned.

A healthy mind

Develop your thought processes. Multi task.

Supervise your hoomans and play at the same time.

Communicate often. Have debates and offer constructive criticism.

Meet friends

Keep in touch with family. It is always good to make sure older members are still in fine fettle.

With Duffy my older sister

Visit educational establishments and buildings of historical interest. There is always so much more you can learn.

Appearance

Keep your coat in tip-top condition.

Ensure you receive regular grooming sessions.

Take good care of your teeth and gums.

Brush regularly.

A good gnaw helps clean teeth.

Floss regularly.

Beard of Airedale is extremely effective.

Appearance

Whenever you go out make sure your lead and collar are clean, neat and tidy.

Any accessories are neat.

This is how I stay fit, healthy and look exceedingly suave, even if I do say so myself..

Taffy.
