Exciting times.

Our pal Robbie has come to stay with us for 10 days, we are so very excited. We plan to take him on our favourite walks and show him where the muddiest spots are along the riverside.

As long as he remembers who is BOSS of the toy box, all will be fine!

Tomorrow we are going to meet an Airedale friend and his hooman.

Will tell you all about that very soon!

To top it all we were nominated by Scruffy, Lacie, Stan and Gus and seconded by Jake and Just Harry for Photo of the Month on DWB! woooo hooooo. What an honour it is. Not sure the camera caught my best side though, what do you think?

There will be the Closing Ceremony of The Paw-Limpics to fit in as well!

Got to dash off, so much to be done this weekend.

A Paw-Limpic medal and an award.

My turn to post today I think. Taffy has rather hogged the computer the last few days. So I have pushed him off and he is sitting on the floor near to me showing those rather splendid chompers of his. Do hope he is not going to use them just because I am busy typing here!

First piece of news. We won a Silver medal in the Paw-Limpic Games for the Ball Event. We were absolutely stunned.
The number of tennis balls that ended up next door while we practiced for this event may account for the death of their lawnmower. It started making horrible groaning noises and finally died. We rather suspect it did not cope too well with all the balls it chewed up! Whoops.

Our prized medal.

This was one of our many practice sessions this Spring and we are dead chuffed with our medal.

Then George and Noah

passed on this wonderful Gold card to us.

Now it has become a bone of contention as to who will look after this! As the girl around here I feel I need it the most.

If I have enormous spends on it can I upgrade to Platinum????

Just thought I would leave you with this picture of Taffy.

It makes me hoot every time I see it.

Just look at his moustache!

Teeth

Hidden out of sight under all the tan curls are............

These!

Kept white and shiny with poultry flavoured toothpaste.

I have my very own toothbrush.

I inspect it regularly to make sure the bristles are firm

Whenever I see the toothpaste I cannot help but lick my lips in anticipation.

Check the correct amount of toothpaste is on the brush

More licking of lips.

Say "Please"

And off we go.

Bottom row first

Then the other side Finally the back molars.

Clean the brush
Ooh it is just so yummy.
A final sniff of the brush

Another lick, just in case I did miss some!

Well that is the teeth, think my eyebrows need sorting now.

An important date for us.

<
We were sitting quietly this morning when all of a sudden Taffy jumped up and looked at the calendar.

He became very excited and I wondered what on earth had come over him.

"It's the 14th August" he said.

So I looked at him blankly and started to think why this date was so important but my mind was a complete blank.

"Think hard" he said, while tapping his paw on the carpet.

It makes me a bit nervous when he does that and my brain became all fuddled. So I just continued to look at him blankly.

"OK, as I am feeling in a good mood I will give you a clue.

It is a year since the last August 14th"

Then the penny dropped!

It's a year since we had started our blog!!

To think we had very nearly let this momentous occasion pass by!

Wowee.
My little brother has won a Bronze medal in the Paw-Limpic games for Diving.
How cool is that? All those hours of training have paid off.

This is his medal winning dive.

He is presently attending a Press Conference hence the responsibility has fallen to me to update the blog.

Multi tasking and paws still crossed.

We were absolutely delighted to read the update about Jackson earlier this evening. He is out of intensive care.
He is coming home on Friday. Yippee.
I am continuing to keep my paws crossed......
even while my ears are flying and I catch my ball.
I consider that to be multi tasking..

08/08/08

Today is meant to be the luckiest day for 100 years. Something to do with it being 08/08/08 the hoomans said, it all went over our heads far too complicated!

Can't say we have noticed much luck passing us by: not had 8 dinners, or 8 bones not even 8 treats! Haven't even been on 8 walks!!

Although

I think I have barked 8 times today and have set about my sister 8 times.

We did, however, sit patiently with the hoomans while they watched the Opening Ceremony of The Olympics which started at 8pm Bejing time.

It was not as grand as the Official opening of the Paw-Limpics of course.

Well nothing could ever match that pawtastic event.

One we shall never forget after being given the MASSIVE honour of presenting the first medal of the games to Lenny

So I think I will retire to my bed now, and dream 8 dreams and sleep for at least 8 hours.

Goodnight

An eventful 10 hours!

Last night we had a major thunderstorm.
I absolutely hate them!

In fact I have to admit I am a quivering wreck when all those clouds bash bottoms while a light display takes place.
Well it eventually stopped and I managed to get some "shut eye".

This particular thunderstorm lasted for nearly 2 hours!

I know this because the hoomans have been moaning about losing 2 hours sleep!

What about my sleep? I had a disturbed night too!

This morning I woke up had a nice stretch and went into the garden with Molly.

Hooman was feeding the goldfish in the pond, it was lovely and peaceful and I was enjoying the fresh air.
Didn't last for long..... all of a sudden Molly goes absolutely mental. She is trying to get under the car. She is barking, whining and scratching at the tyres.

I wondered at first if she had taken up amateur mechanics and was trying to change the tyre!

Nope, neither of these..

She had found a RAT.

Mum hooman went to pieces. Not a pretty sight I can tell you!

So now I have an excitable Molly to cope with and a hysterical hooman!

All I wanted was my breakfast to be served!

So I had to make some speedy Executive Decisions.

1. Send Molly indoors

2. Get more hoomans

Having managed this I had to bark out instructions. Not easy when you now have 3 hysterical female hoomans (neighbours) wondering what to do.

I have to say my patience was a bit thin after such a disturbed night and I had to tell them to "get a grip"

Quite what they expected to achieve with a plastic bag and a stick I don't know. The rat was still under the car, obviously not in the best of health as the way it was walking resembled somebody who had consumed 6 pints and the same number of vodkas!

My hooman suggested she quickly jumped in the car and ran it over.

"Bleugh", said another hooman!!

Honestly, I despair sometimes I really do.

I took control again. I scared it from under the car and it staggered into the nearest drain, where the hoomans finally did something constructive and drowned it.

I do hope the rest of my day is less challenging I need to catch up on my sleep!

Heads

YIKES !

I am becoming increasingly concerned.
Spike is sprouting foliage. OK not a great deal but..........

Then I find this chap has the same problem. Not only that it is PINK!

Doesn't look too happy does he? Well neither will I if it happens to me.

Please, somebody reassure me I will not suffer the same fate!
